GOLD AWARD - Best Landscape Display
MJD Landscapes and Design

Congratulations to Matt Daly and his team on winning the Gold Award at this years Garden Week.
A contemporary native garden showcasing everything from an inviting outdoor living area, complete with inbuilt spa, looking over a sea of lush green hardy waterwise natives in an array of colours, surrounding a dry pebble creek bed.
The decking and patio showed true craftsmanship and the innovative curved planter wall housing an impressive iron sculpture highlighted design talent as a main feature of the garden. Low maintenance and very waterwise, it is no wonder this outstanding display has already been commissioned to a Perth client.

Well done Matt and good luck for Melbourne 2012!!
Watercorp Garden 1 - Shane Rumball and Cathy Graso
The modern cube showcasing the stunning glass panels from Artworks on Glass was just the start of an amazing collection of designer sculptures featured in this stunning display. Waterwise plants in organic swales framed the pathway, a hub cap sculpture standing proud within the bed, and contemporary white balls of light lay across the lawned area.

Watercorp Garden 2 - Kate Biondo and Leesa Suttie

The second of the Watercorp displays was designed by Kate and Leesa as a child friendly waterwise garden.
Using a large variety of Australian native plants this garden housed all sorts of hidden treasures to keep the young ones amused, from skull rocks to a play pit area set aside of the dry creek bed featured in riverstones. Fabulous plant selection created an interesting and beautiful foliaged garden for all to enjoy while the children are at play.

The Most Innovative Display Award - Haughty Culture

Haughty Culture's retro garden totally showed off the expertise of its designers Cathy Cocks and Lorna Barnett.
The colours of the backdrop and tiling married beautifully with the plant choices and water feature creating a unique and interesting funky space.
Plants featured a mix of hardy succulents set amongst waterwise natives in a pleasant colour scope of varied textures.

The Most Innovative Display Award -
Welcome to the Retreat - Tim Metcalf and Jenny Thomas

What a fantastic structure these two designers created! Gabion pillars filled with riverstones supporting a wooden framework to house a quiet retreat for relaxing and destressing.
Plant choices were mainly soft and delicate with a few structured grasses for greenery.
Attractive artwork screened the back and subtly toned planter boxes enclosed the area for that cosy protected feel.
