Garden Week 2011 WALDA Show Garden
With the backdrop of Perth's skyline, the WALDA showgarden made quite the entry statement to Garden Week 2011 at Perry Lakes. Designed by WALDA's President Miriam Moore the garden depicted "putting the heart and soul back into Perth's gardens". A simple display of beautiful waterwise deciduous trees and plants, mostly australian native surrounded a cooling lawn area to relax in. Curves and circles formed the layout creating an inviting welcome and the stunning works of art stood out amongst a drama of planted beds. A cracker dust pathway circled through the display and the corten steel screening ever changing with the various light and sunglow shining through, brought the whole display together to create a very sustainable tranquil beautiful landscape affordable and available to the Perth backyard.
The designers involved in producing this show garden were Miriam Moore, Zetta Trail, Paula Whalley and Sharon Reid. Grateful thanks to Kate Biondo, Leesa Suttie, Shane Rumball, Cathy Graso, Vanessa. Jana and Mary for all their hard work with installation and a huge thank you to Kieran Reid for his marvellous Perth Skyline.
